Internships are a way for young professionals to develop the skills that they learned in the classroom and then apply them in the workplace. And what better way to spend your summer than gaining knowledge that will benefit your future? The best part about internships are that 72% of internships turn into full-time job offers. Yes, you heard me right, 72%! There is a good chance that you will be offered a position at the conclusion of your internship. This statistic from the National Association of Colleges and Employers alone makes getting an internship worth it!

You don't have to forgo a paid summer job because a lot of internships are paid! Employers want to recruit high-quality candidates and in turn, you can get paid for learning! Another plus to interning over the summer is you get your foot in the door and grow your network of contacts. If the internship doesn't turn into a full-time position, that's OK because at least you gained contacts in your desired field. When you're ready to graduate or change fields, reach out to these contacts to see if they know of any available positions that may suit your skills and abilities.

When you are ready to move onto the next step, whether it be another internship or your first full-time position, you will have some experience under your belt. You will have test drove your desired career field and determined whether or not it was a good path for you. The best part about internships? You're not stuck in them! If you or your employer feel that it isn't a good fit, no hard feelings and you can move on! We hope we've convinced you to get an internship this summer and if you're still on the fence, check out the videos above!
