Fun Fact

The URI Men's Basketball team has made the NCAA tournament two years in a row! The home games are free for all current URI students & it's a great way to show your school spirit. Nothing is better than when the Ryan Center is packed with 7,000 people and the crowd is cheering!

Advice to applicants

URI offers two deadlines: early action (Dec 1) and regular decision (Feb 1). If students are applying for the early action deadline, which is non-binding, students need to make sure they send in all the required material by that day to be considered for early action. When applying to URI, take note they are a test required school. Please have your scores sent directly from the testing agency so the scores can then be added to your file. All the requirements for a completed application are on the URI website,

Myth

URI has more than just Rhode Island students! They have 65 nations represented and 43 U.S. states and territories. This means you will get to meet a diverse group of people.

URI

Popular major

The more competitive majors are Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering and Business. URI staff recommends that students apply for our Early Action deadline of December 1 if they are interested in these programs. With over 80 majors, there are many other popular areas of study for students that they can major in or add additional areas of study like a double major or a minor.

Something to share

URI is a great place with a small community feel. Many students testify that they get a small school 'feel' while at URI because of the way the campus is laid out and the community that is there. Go see for yourself and take a campus tour!
