The one thing I wish I learned in both high school and college is how to manage my finances responsibly! I was never taught how to use a credit card wisely, save money for emergencies, and prepare myself for a stable financial future. After experiencing some harsh realities, like getting charged late fees and situations where I have panicked over the cost of repairs, I have learned how to save and be a financially responsible adult.
Until a year ago, I didn't know how important it was to start saving for retirement. For me, its over 45 years away so it wasn't on my radar until I started working in a full-time position and our finance manager convinced me this was a silly perspective. I learned that the earlier you start to save, the more money you'll have when retirement comes around since you'll have more time to take advantage of compounding interest. Who doesn't want to be financially stable in their elder years?
I am here to tell you everything I wish I knew going out into the real world in one simple infographic.
